Teenage Mental Health and Parenting support
Supporting teenagers through adolescence requires understanding the unique challenges they face. This developmental stage is characterized by significant physical, social, emotional, and academic transitions as they establish their identities, seek independence, and move toward adulthood. These changes occur alongside pressures from family, school, and peers, making it a crucial time for support and guidance. I offer tailored support for both teenagers and their parents as they navigate this complex period.
teen counselling is for:

teen counselling
It's become increasingly common to diagnose and medicate children, but mental health support can often be effectively addressed via small changes to our approaches . I focus on empowering teens through education about emotional intelligence, helping them understand the root of their anxiety, depression, or strong emotions. We'll work towards acceptance of their fears and worries, build on their strengths, recognise what they can and can't control, and establish healthy boundaries. I'll also provide specific tools to manage anxiety. For parents, I offer guidance and support in understanding their teen's challenges and developing effective parenting strategies.
the tough stuff:
Understanding the various factors impacting your teen's life can be incredibly helpful.
I'd love to hear your perspective on their social media use and how it might be influencing them. Who do they admire as a positive role model, and what qualities stand out to them?
What kind of person do you hope they'll develop into—someone who fits in, or someone who feels empowered to express their unique self?
What aspirations do they hold for their future?
How would you characterise the communication style in your home—open and trusting, or more challenging?
Do you feel you have a good sense of their fears, struggles, and the underlying reasons for their behaviors?
