My process and how I can help you
In my therapy sessions, I prioritise building a strong therapeutic alliance through rapport, connection, and empathy, recognising that these are essential foundations for addressing mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, and trauma. This approach takes precedence over immediately focusing on structured interviews or specific topics.
Drawing on Attachment Theory, we'll examine the influence of your relationships within various systems—family, work, social, cultural, or religious/ spiritual—to understand how past conditioning may be impacting your present circumstances. I integrate a range of therapeutic tools, including Psychosynthesis, Cognitive & Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, tailoring the approach to your specific needs and goals.
I understand that this process can be challenging, uncomfortable, and emotional. However, I want to assure you that healing is possible. I strongly believe in addressing the root of issues, including childhood experiences, to build a more secure future.
So, when you are ready to begin your adventure, I will be here.
You do not need a referral or MHCP to see me. You may be able to claim on private health insurance with a number of providers.
My practice operates outside of the Medicare system for several reasons. This allows me to prioritize dedicated time with clients over extensive paperwork, maintain independence in my practice, and focus on empowering clients in their recovery journey. I believe in fostering a strong therapeutic relationship, which research shows is the most significant factor in positive outcomes. While Medicare rebates can seem appealing, they often involve out-of-pocket expenses and can limit client choice. I encourage you to research different fee structures and find what works best for you.
