My process and how I can help you

Anxiety and Depression are two very big words being thrown around the system right now.

In my words…

Anxiety is: FEAR …

Depression is: ANGER….

Here is what I do…

My lens is a systemic one. I am trained to examine and structure your current situation, delving into your personal history and Family of Origin. This framework is intertwined with Attachment Theory, a concept I deeply admire. Together, we explore the primary relationships within your various systems: family, work, social, cultural, or religious, and assess their impact on you. The focus is on uncovering connections between your conditioning and its influence on your present circumstances.

Depending on what comes up and where you want to go next, I also use a range of Therapeutic tools such as Psychoanalytic therapy (Psychosynthesis), Cognitive & Behavioural Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy and Narrative Therapy.

Sounds like fun right?

It can be challenging, uncomfortable and downright emotional however I assure you, there is light at the end of the tunnel! I am a big believer in healing our Childhood wounds, in order to provide a secure future.

So, when you are ready to begin your adventure, I will be here.

You do not need a referral or MHCP to see me. There are plenty of CBT factories to choose from however I am not one of them.

You cannot claim my sessions via Medicare

Here are a few reasons why:

  • I prefer to spend time with you, as opposed to my computer and paperwork.

  • I prefer not to be at the mercy of a government audit.

  • I actually want to help you get better, so you don’t need to see me anymore!

  • I prefer to educate on what I know instead of contributing to the collective fear.

  • I have strong beliefs on Mental Health diagnoses and their role in the system.

  • Some individuals get attached or identify with their disorders.  At times this may be beneficial to your treatment however I prefer to attach more positive labels.

  • It disempowers you from the ability to choose your therapist.  Having a positive and connective relationship with your therapist is the #1 predictor of movement in the therapeutic space.

  • Financially, it often leaves you out of pocket more.  The term “rebate” is a fantastic marketing tool! Do your homework and shop around!!
