Where have I been….?
My best buddies.. Naiya and Bodhi
Info update….
Writing this blog has been on my mind for some time, and as usual, life happens with other priorities stealing the limelight.
So here is my resolution. To write more blogs!! I will aim for 1 x fortnight however this may be challenging, as I could write enough content for 1 x day…. Small steps Mel, small steps.
So, in the meantime, here is an update on the past few years, in no particular order….
-Naiya (pic above) is now 3 and still as crazy as ever. She will return to her role as Therapy Dog one day!
-Naiya now has a brother. Bodhi is a rescue stumpy tail cattle dog/ kelpie, who is now 18 months old (we got him at 6 months). To be honest, he is more likely to be the Therapy Dog! Still a little timid at this stage, so watch this space…..
-I have lost count of the courses/ study I started, finished or am still completing (insert thinking emoji here). To name the big ones:-
Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution (GDFR)
NMT- Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (Dr Bruce Perry)
Psychedelic Assisted Therapist - PAT
-I bought a dilapidated old cottage…
-I turned 50!! And as you potentially saw on Instagram, I get to give less fucks (well about some things anyway!). My 50th birthday present saw me head back to my ‘hearthome’ Hong Kong…. Lots to say here but prefer a conversation if you ever want to know.
-Naiya and I have now been to not one, but two #CASTERSTON KELPIE MUSTERS… In 2023, she competed in the sprint and hill climb. She came 21st in the sprint, then decided to have her own little adventure for the hill climb. Needless to say, she didn’t make the cut. This year, we opted out of the hill climb and she came 30th in the sprint….. The road trip is one of my favourite times of year….
- My Third child has now finished Year 12!! I am free…. and suffering somewhat from parental burnout!
-I secured a Government grant to help me with all things social media….. I learnt so much about most things META, how to make it work for me and how to engage/ get an audience. As valuable as I found it, it wasn’t hard to figure out that it is not the adventure for me. Instead, here I am blogging, in what will hopefully be a more connected, personal, and insightful way to share my knowledge.
-My beloved #HAWTHORN HAWKS are still a priority in my world…. always a few road trips or quick dash’s to melbourne to be had!
What does the future looks like for me:-
-Well, funnily enough I have some more study lined up however the constant pull to add more road trip adventures, do some gardening, get through my huge stack of books and slow down more is proving very appealing right now.
-I am also wanting to focus on some group work so if you are keen, let’s talk.
-2025 is going to bring me more footy games, more walks, more nature, more reading, more ocean dips, more road trips, more group work, more camping, more gardening, more getting out of my comfort zone…..
That’s about it really…..
